HORSE PEOPLE
It appears that no profession or hobby has as many “specialists” as horse people. We all have our “own way” of doing things, and “that is the only way.” This is true even when it comes to selecting real estate for our horses. Consequently, it may be difficult to find what we need, and the only alternative is to find a nice piece of land and start building.
The above statements are based on our own experience. For this reason, we have built five equine operations from scratch – both small and large – in five states. Two of them have been featured by Western Horseman and are shown on this website.
The unnecessary time buyers spend looking at “Horse Lovers Dream” and a “Must See” needs to be eliminated in the screening process. Even though it is impossible to cover all required details, the “questionnaire” should make the entire process more effective. In case there are no suitable existing operations available in your preferred area, it is a good possibility that we know of a tract of suitable land. In case we do not, we will work hard to find it and do the necessary groundwork with local authorities. It used to be that in the “South”, there were no zoning or ordinances to worry about. That is not true anymore, and one always needs to investigate prior to making decisions.
In short, the process in finding “the right place” – either an existing facility or the land – in a specific area, could sometimes be both time consuming and difficult. This is why total FAITH and TRUST between the parties involved is necessary.
